Pre Accident Value Disputes
Following a collision, your vehicle may be treated as Beyond Economical Repair (BER), otherwise known as Written Off.
In this case, the insurer involved may wish to settle with you for the Pre Accident Value (PAV) of the vehicle. This is calculated using “like for like” market examples, and making adjustments around mileage differences etc.
Should you be unhappy with the Pre Accident Value proposed by the insurer, we will be able to advise on the situation. We offer an initial phone consultation free of charge. Should we feel that the PAV offered by the insurer is below market value, we will advise.
Should you be happy to proceed, we will carry out a physical inspection of the vehicle and produce a report to justify an increase in the PAV, for you to present to the insurer.

Certificate of Conversion
A Certificate of Conversion is required by Revenue when a vehicle is significantly altered i.e. number of seats, body type, or converting to a caravan.
The Revenue form “VRTCONV ” must be completed and stamped by a Suitably Qualified Individual (SQI), following a physical inspection of the vehicle.

Pre Purchase Inspection
We carry out in-depth pre-purchase inspections on private sale and dealership vehicles.
Our Pre Purchase Inspection includes:
- Paint depth measurement and panel gap inspection on all applicable panels to attempt to identify previous repairs or rust
- Visual inspection of all cosmetic/trim components
- Diagnostics scan of control units to attempt to identify any electronic defects
- History Check to attempt to identify mileage discrepancies or previous Write Off
- Service history and VIN check
- Testing of all interior electronics
- Visual examination of engine bay including fluid levels, leaks, belts etc
- Road test
- Visual underside inspection of underside incl suspension and tyres

Post Purchase / Defect Inspection
Following the purchase of a vehicle from a dealership, you may encounter a defect that the selling dealer is not willing to acknowledge or unable to repair.
Should the dispute escalate to the point of having to contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, or you approaching the Small Claims Court, you may require a physical inspection and Independent Report confirming that the defect exists, and that it is not simply a characteristic of the vehicle.
